Administrative Medical Assistant
OVERVIEW:
Academy Orthopedics, LLC is currently seeking a full-time administrative medical assistant for our practice. Our Administrative Medical Assistants are an integral part of our office team and play a primary role in the coordination of follow-up care for every patient. The ideal candidate should be familiar with general medical terminology, anatomy, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting. Certification and previous experience, while a bonus, is not required. We are willing to train the right applicant!
We have three offices in Cumming, Buford, and Duluth are open Monday thru Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-1pm. Some traveling between offices will be required. NO weekends, holidays, or call schedules! Preference will be given to bilingual applicants. Interested applicants may send an email with their resume to pmorgan1967@outlook.com.
Responsibilities for the Administrative Medical Assistant include:
- Assisting patients with follow up care plans, including creation of future appointments, imaging/lab orders, patient education, referrals, and more
- Communicating with incoming and outgoing referral sources to coordinate patient care and physician orders
- Answering, documenting, and returning patient phone calls, voicemails, and e-mails
- Documentation in EMR of patient demographics, history, and diagnostic imaging performed
- Utilization of prior-authorization portals and tools to submit or monitor prior-authorization requests
- Assistance within clinic rooming patients, obtaining histories, and helping the clinical medical assistant/physician as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency with computer and technology-based work
- Ability to self-manage as it pertains to efficiency with patient coordination and office tasks
- Ability to work in a clinical setting requiring standing and sitting for periods of time, with some bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50lbs
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or other allied health career program (preferred, not required)
- 1+ years of medical office experience (preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience with other various clinical tasks and duties preferred but not necessary
- Applicant must take and pass an employer-paid drug screen prior to beginning position
Korean Interpreter/Medical Assistant
OVERVIEW:
Academy Orthopedics, LLC is currently seeking a full-time medical assistant/Korean interpreter for our practice. The ideal candidate should be familiar with medical terminology in both English and Korean, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting. We have three offices in Cumming, Buford, and Duluth are open Monday thru Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-1pm. Some traveling between offices will be required. Responsibilities for the Korean Interpreter/Medical Assistant include:
- Assisting Korean-speaking patients at check-in with new patient forms and paperwork
- Assistance within clinic rooming patients, obtaining histories, and helping the medical assistant/physician
- Interpretation throughout Korean-speaking patient appointments, with the ability to accurately communicate various orthopedic conditions between doctor and patient
- Documentation in EMR of patient demographics, history, and diagnostic imaging performed
- Performance of other various office tasks including: returning phone calls and voicemails, scheduling patients, stocking rooms, communicating with outside medical offices, coordination of imaging appointments with outpatient facilities, and more
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Fluency in both English and Korean languages
- Proficiency with computer and technology-based work
- Ability to self-manage as it pertains to efficiency with patient coordination and office tasks
- Ability to work in a clinical setting requiring standing and sitting for periods of time, with some bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50lbs
- Medical office experience (preferred)
